You asked, and Juzo answered! We compiled some most frequently asked questions from social media and answered them for you. We also included links to helpful resources with information about caring for compression garments, donning, doffing and more. If you still have questions, leave a comment on the post.

Q.

How do I order or purchase Juzo compression garments?

A.

Proper fit is extremely important for medical compression garments, so the best option is to find a certified Juzo fitter in your area that sells Juzo products. The easiest way to do this is on the Juzo website. If there isn’t a Juzo dealer in your area, email support@juzousa.com for additional options.

Q.

How do I order Juzo products if I live outside the U.S. and Canada?

A.

Juzo has subsidiaries in other countries. Follow this link to see if we have one in your country or email info@juzo.de.

Q.

Can I order Juzo products online?

A.

Juzo does not sell direct to consumers, but there are several online distributors that carry our products. If you search “Juzo compression garments,” you should find them. If they don’t carry the compression garment you need, look for a dealer in your area via the Juzo website or email support@juzousa.com for help.

Q.

Do you need a prescription to order a medical compression garment?

A.

The answer is yes and no. You can order many Juzo medical compression products without a prescription, but it’s important to consult with a medical professional prior to doing so because they will be able to properly measure you for the garment and suggest the appropriate product. Also, many insurances require a prescription if you want to be reimbursed for your medical compression garment. Your primary care physician can prescribe one, as well as a nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant. Lymphedema therapists can help you obtain a prescription, as needed.

Q.

Will insurance help pay for compression?

A.

Insurance coverage varies depending on your insurance policy, provider and your condition that requires compression. If you have lymphedema and are a Medicare beneficiary, there's reason to be optimistic. A new law has been passed to create a special category of benefits for lymphedema compression items that will be covered starting Jan. 1, 2024.

Q.

Is there a way to more easily put on compression garments?

A.

A certified Juzo fitter and/or lymphedema therapist can walk you through best practices for donning/doffing your Juzo compression garment. We also have helpful videos available on our YouTube channel. Click here to watch.

Q.

How tight should I make my Juzo Compression Wrap?

A.

We recommend a firm amount of compression…like a hug on your arm or leg. However, the compression should never be painful, in any way. The straps are adjustable, so remember to adjust the straps throughout the day if they feel looser after being worn for several hours. Watch this video for guidance on donning a lower extremity wrap.

Q.

What should I do if my compression garment rolls down?

A.

A properly fitting therapeutic medical compression garment should stay in place. If your arm sleeve is rolling down, get measured (or remeasured) by a medical professional or certified Juzo fitter to see if you need a different size.

For custom compression pantyhose garments, if you’re wearing the correct size and they “creep down” throughout the day, talk with your fitter about a “high rise back” as an option that allows for the fabric in the back of the pantyhose to come up higher than the front. This helps the garment stay in place. We also have waistband options that may help.

Q.

Is there anywhere online I can find information on sizing, specifically the width of the calf and the width of the thigh for your thigh high stockings?

A.

Shopping for compression garments can be tricky. It’s important to find the right size, compression level and style to help manage your condition—whether it’s lymphedema, lipedema, venous insufficiency or other circulatory issues. Certified fitters and medical professionals are able to help find your proper size based on your precise measurements. We recommend being fit for your compression garment by a compression expert every six months. Juzo developed best practice guidelines for purchasing compression stockings, socks and sleeves. Follow these steps to help ensure a great experience.

Q.

Where can you find pricing for compression garments?

A.

Since Juzo doesn’t sell direct to consumers, we don’t have price lists available. The business or healthcare organization that orders your compression garment can provide pricing.

Q.

What’s the best way to wash my Juzo compression garments?

A.

Washing Juzo compression garments is easy—just use your washing machine and regular detergent. Avoid fabric softener and bleach. You also can dry them in your dryer. If you are traveling to a country with chlorine in the water, you may want to consider using bottled water and wash them in a sink or bath. Remember to wash and dry your product after each use.
