Juzo Sponsors BrCAcademy

Juzo

Juzo is proud to be the founding sponsor of BrCAcademy, a specialized educational platform dedicated to improving outcomes for individuals impacted by breast cancer. Its goal is to help bridge the gap between breast cancer survivorship and oncology rehabilitation by delivering trusted, neuroscience-informed education to breast cancer survivors and the clinicians providing their care.

Founded by certified lymphedema therapist Jodi Winicour, PT, CMT, CLT-LANA, the mission is to help ease anxiety and inspire patients to accelerate healing and recovery.

Juzo USA invited Jodi to our headquarters to learn more about our culture, products and manufacturing process. She shared this touching recap of her experience in a recent BrCAcademy newsletter.

Recently, I had the pleasure of spending time with BrCAcademy's founding sponsor, family-owned Juzo USA. Juzo CEO Annerose Zorn and President Petra Zorn graciously welcomed me to their headquarters in beautiful Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, where I toured their manufacturing facility and learned how their compression garments are made. Watching the science behind proper gradient compression, the remarkable skill of their seamstresses, and the meticulous quality testing of every garment was a dream come true for this science nerd.

What surprised me was everything beyond the products. I learned about their commitment to renewable energy, recycling, and their pride in keeping machine maintenance, fabrication, and quality inspection in the hands of their own employees. It was clear they aren’t just making compression garments—they are building a culture.

BrCAcademy's sponsors are companies whose products and services I've trusted for years, and I expected to come away impressed by Juzo's quality. What I didn't expect was how deeply I would connect with the people, and that I would be treated as part of their family.

After my day at their headquarters, I found myself thinking back to being a kid who always felt like she was on the outside looking in. Then something delightful happened—I felt like I belonged. I felt welcomed, valued, and genuinely cared for. Their family-owned culture wasn't just something they talked about; it was woven into every conversation, every interaction, and every person I met. You could feel their dedication to their craft, their love and respect for one another, and their unwavering commitment to doing the right thing.

Maybe that's why this visit meant so much to me. It reminded me that belonging isn't about fitting in everywhere. It's about finding people whose values align with your own—people who make you feel seen, appreciated, and at home. That's exactly how I felt at Juzo.

We are excited about partnering with Jodi to raise awareness of BrCAcademy and enhance its offerings. So far, our support has fueled BrCAcademy's growth through adding two incredible team members (both breast cancer survivors) and expanding its library of free educational resources to include practical guides for breast cancer surgery and radiation therapy (chemotherapy resources and Spanish-language patient education are coming soon). Juzo’s support also allows all online content to stay ad-free (no pop-up distractions!).

We encourage you to spend some time exploring the resources on BrCAcademy.org. Continue to check back, as Jodi and her team are regularly adding more content, including details about the benefits of compression for those undergoing treatment for breast cancer, in recovery and beyond.
